     Elizabeth L Broder was born about 1863 at Lissaneagh, Achonry, Co Sligo, Ireland.1 She was the daughter of Robert Broder and Margaret Cuffe. Elizabeth spent some time in the United States. She probably arrived with her brother John Broder in 1880. She visited or lived in Appleton, Wisconsin where she was photographed by E H Stimson, her cousin Rebecca Cuff's husband.2 She married Robert Jones about 1905.3,4,1 In 1911 Elizabeth and Robert lived at Dolgelly, Merionethshire, Wales, where he was a shop keeper.3 Elizabeth might also have lived at Aberdare, Glamorgan, Wales, after Robert's death.5,2 She and Robert Jones had no children.3

After Robert's death, Elizabeth moved to 418 Ravenhill Road, Belfast, Northern Ireland, the home of her niece Kathleen (Broder) Morrison.6 On 12 Dec 1950, Elizabeth sent a Christmas card to Robert & Violet Broder. The inside note reads:
"418 Ravenhill Road, Belfast Dear Robert & family Just a line to wish you a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Excuse writing. Love to all. Aunt Jones."7
She died a month later, on 21 January 1951, when her nightdress caught fire.1,8 She was buried on 24 January 1951 at Section E2, Grave 755, Dundonald Cemetery, Belfast, Northern Ireland; she is buried with several members of the Morrison family but there is no plaque for her on the grave.1,8

Research Note: How long Elizabeth remained in the US has not been determined; nor has the place of her marriage to Robert Jones, although it may have been in Dolgelley, Merionethshire, Wales where he was born and where they lived in 1911. However, since there is no known reason for Elizabeth to have moved to Dolgelley prior to her marriage, perhaps she and Robert met and married in the US.
