William S Tickell was born on 28 December 1917 at Cawston, British Columbia.2 He was the son of Christopher Tickell and Ellen Jane Manery.1 He married Marguerite Sampson on 24 April 1943 at Nanaimo, British Columbia.2 He died on 3 March 2008 at Comox, British Columbia, at age 90.2

"TICKELL, WILLIAM S. December 28, 1917 - March 3, 2008 Bill passed away quietly at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, with family at his side. He is survived by his wife Marguerite (nee Sampson); sister Diane Davies, Kelowna; sons Chris (Gwen), Nanaimo and Rob (Karen), Courtenay; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Bill spent his youth in Cawston and the Penticton area. He met Marguerite when he enlisted for WWII and came to Nanaimo. They were married April 24, 1943. Bill and partner Dick Bing operated Island Auto Body in Nanaimo for about forty years. Bill was an outdoor enthusiast and life long member of the Nanaimo Fish and Game Club. Bill and Marguerite had recently moved to Casa Loma Seniors Village in Courtenay. A celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 10, 129 Harewood Road, Nanaimo, on Sunday, April 13, 2008 from 1 - 4 pm. Please join our family and share your memories. No flowers by request. Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the S.P.C.A."3
