The notice is brief, but we are able to determine from it the date of death and the day of the funeral. The place of burial is not given. No death registration for John Everitt has been found.

John Everitt's first wife was Margaret Ashley:

The register, containing the Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials from the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine to the present year, was unfortunately destroyed at the time of the fire of the Revd John Anderson's house.

The 1871 census taken at Willoughby Township, page 61, shows the John Everitt family as follows:
John Everitt 51
Margaret 49
George H. 18
Loretta 15
Charles 14
Wilson 12
Irving 10
Japhta (possibly) 8 (Logically, this should be Frank who was 18 in 1881.)
Arthur 6
Maggie 4

Page 7 of the same census shows a John H. Everit, age 24, and his wife Isabella, age 23. John H. Everitt is believed to be a son of John and Margaret. There were likely other children.

John Everitt's will has been found. In it, he leaves Sabrina one third of his estate. He adds a codicil to the effect that, should Sabrina predecease him, then his step daughter Phoebe Coleman, Sabrina's daughter, should receive her share. By the time the will was written, Phoebe Coleman's married name was Lawrason.

Further research is being done. There is some indication that the Smith family may have had ties to the Everitts that predated the marriage of Sabrina and John in 1877.1
