|Note||With evidence found to date, it appears that Rachel and Robert had but one child, Marilda. However, it may be said that they had with them from an very early age Daniel Badger. He was with them at age 8 at the time of the 1871 census in Beverly and he is shown with them as 19 at the time of the 1881 census in Beverly.|
Daniel married Louisa Chambers and farmed in Beverly and raised a family. Daniel and Louisa are buried in Troy Cemetery. It may be pointed out here that the John Gamble, who died in 1931 and who is also buried in Troy Cemetery is a full brother of Daniel Badger. John, with sisters Elizabeth and Rosella, are all shown as Gambles in the 1871 census in Beverly where they appear with John Gamble and Harriet Abel. Their birth name was Badger and they were foster children of John and Harriet Gamble. Their parents were Thomas Badger and Margaret Pearce. According to the History of the People of Troy, 1949, Margaret died and Thomas found homes for his children in the local community.
