Clarissa Coleman was born on 28 February 1849 at Troy, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 She was the daughter of Daniel Coleman and Mary Abel.1 She married George Main on 16 November 1870 at Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario. (notes: The date for the marriage of Clarissa and George is taken from an index for the Dumfries Reformer (issue of 23 November 1870) done by Rosemary Ambrose. It says that the marriage was at the house of Rev. F.J. Crowder and that all were of Beverly.).1 She died on 26 October 1928 at Galt, Waterloo County, Ontario, at age 79.1 She was buried on 29 October 1928 at Mountview Cemetery, Galt, Waterloo County, Ontario.1 Clarissa was buried in Mountview Cemetery Galt.

Clarissa's death registration is 035360-28. Her parents names are given as Dan Coleman and Mary Abel. I notice that the place of birth for her father is given as Pennsylvania. I believe this to be incorrect. Ibelieve that he was born in Beverly Township. The doctor is Dr. J.G. Seaton of Sheffield. The informant is her daughter, Cora Cairns. At the time of her death, Clarissa was living at 76 Ainslie Street North, as was her daughter. The undertakers were Allen and Ray of Water Street North in Galt. Her ethnic origin is given as German.

Clarissa died of pneumonia with mycarditis listed as a contributing factor.1
