Percy C. Smith was born on 11 June 1884 at South Dumfries Twp, Brant County, Ontario.1 He was the son of Judson Smith and Lucinda Coleman.1 He married Florence Margaret Wattman.1 He died on 7 October 1941 at Galt, Waterloo County, Ontario, at age 57.1 He was buried on 9 October 1941 at Mountview Cemetery, Galt, Waterloo County, Ontario.1 Birth reg. 001853-84 Percy C. Smith s/o Judson Smith, farmer South Dumfries, and Lucinda Coleman.

The Archives of Ontario has Percy's will under grant number 14439. His affairs were processed under Letters of Administration by his wife Florence Margaret Smith (widow). It's believed she remarried after Percy's death. The legal papers suggest he was a pensioner, for he had been a warehouseman with the C.P.R. in Galt and had at the time of his death an uncashed pension cheque. Along with Florence, an Alfred Fowler, presshand, of North Dumfries, and William Barber, CPR Express warehouseman of Galt, signed a surety to the Judge of the Surrogate Court for expenses.

Percy's legal affairs were handled by Art White, solicitor. Art was at one time o/o of the Albion Hotel and still later mayor of Galt.

A marriage registration for Percy and Florence has not been found to date.

Notices of Percy's death have been found in the Galt Reporter archives. These notices are the first information found for Florence's maiden name and the fact that Percy had a son, William. No further information for William is presently available.1
