Sylvester Smith

     Sylvester Smith was born on 2 May 1832 at St. George, Ontario.¹ He married Henrietta Moe, daughter of Henry Moe and Teressa M. Coleman, on 24 August 1855.¹ He died on 28 January 1917 at Manistique, Michigan, at age 84.¹ He was buried at Lakeview Cemetery, Manistique, Michigan.¹ Sylvester's age per his grave transcription states that he was 79 at time of death. This would date his birth year to 1828. This is at variance with census records.¹
