| Note | She The application for Adam's Civil War pension on behalf of Keturah provides us with two dates for the death of Elizabeth Bartlett Vrooman. One was 23 September, 1865, and the other was 24 September, 1865. The place of death or burial is not given, though one of the deponents in the matter, one William H. Burbridge, states that he attended Elizabeth's funeral and saw her burial. Elizabeth Jane Vrooman died intestate and Andrew Simmons of Jo Daviess County applied for status as administrator of her estate. He is apparently already guardian of Elizabeth's only remaining child, Keturah Ellen Vrooman. This document shows Elizabeth's date of death as being on or about the 28th of September, 1865, and as this provides us with a third date for her death, all in September of the year, we will simply show her death as being in September of 1865. Simmons application makes it clear that there was only one surviving child. |
