Granddaughter of Catherine Jones.
Descendants of Catherine Jones & William Coleman
Melissa Dodge was born on 30 March 1846 at Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 She was the daughter of Leonard Pulsepher Dodge and Mary Coleman.1 She married T. J. Boggs on 15 July 1868 at Saginaw City, Michigan. (notes: Melissa Dodge 21 of Chesaning born Canada married 15 July 1868 in Saginaw City to T.J. Boggs 29 of St. Charles. Witnesses were Sarah Bullock and Sarah Gage of Saginaw.).1 She died on 31 July 1869 at age 23.1 She was buried at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning Twp, Michigan.1 Melissa's death information is taken from a transcription of her stone at Chesaning Wildwood Cemetery. Since the child buried with her is unnamed, it may be that she died in childbirth.

Online trees have Melissa's husband as unknown Boggs. The Wildwood Cemetery transcription from Chesaning has a Melissa Boggs buried, wife of T.J. Boggs. He does appear to be buried there. Looking in the 1870 census, there is a Thomas J. Boggs at Grand Rapids, though he appears to be married. The census does not state relationships and it's possible that the apparent spouse is a sister. Since the way the transcription is set up seems to place Melissa's burial plot next to Leonard Sr. and Mary, I believe it's safe to say that she is Melissa Dodge, their daughter.1
