Elzirah Buckberrough was born on 13 October 1842 at Troy, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 She was the daughter of William Buckberrough and Frances Elizabeth Sutton.1 She married Gilbert Field on 19 March 1867 at Wentworth County, Ontario.1 She died on 15 November 1925 at 1107 College St., Toronto, York County, Ontario, at age 83.1 She was buried on 17 November 1925 at Jerseyville Cemetery, Ancaster Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 Elzirah and her husband appear at Ancaster in the 1881 census and that is the source for the name of their son Hartley. I am unable to locate the family in the 1901 census. There is a possibility that they were at Woodstock in 1901, but the ages are considerably 'off' as well as the name of Elzirah. Gilbert and Elzirah are in Woodstock with son Hartley at the time of the 1911 census.
Elzirah's death registration in Toronto, York Co., on November 15, 1925. 006291-25 Elzirah Field, 1107 College St., age 83, born Troy, Ontario, October 13, 1842. She resided at the given residence for 3 years and for life in Ontario. Her parents were William Buckberrough and Frances Sutton, both born Ontario. The informant was Gilbert Field, her husband, of 1107 College St., the place of burial is given as Jerseyville, Ontario, and the date of burial is November 17, 1925. Interestingly, the undertaker is named as H. Field of 1107 College St. It would appear that Hartley was in the undertaking business. The attending physician was J.H. McConnell, Coroner. Cause of death is shown as myocardial degeneration and death was said to have occurred suddenly. This maybe why the coroner was involved.
