|Note||The list of children for John Purvis Lawrason and Sarah Crane is taken from the 1861 census for Beverly and cross-referenced with a list of the children of John and Sarah extracted from John's will as shown in Delores McIntyre's 'Some Records of the Lawrason Family, 1993, revised 2000'. This may be refined with ongoing research.|
It should be noted that in the household of John Purvis Lawrason at the time of the 1861 census is his mother Charity, age 58, and a female Lawrason, age 19. Her name is illegbly written, but the logic is that she is Elizabeth, Charity's daughter and sister of John Purvis Lawrason.
John's family was in Dumfries by 1822 and he was likely born there. It's also possible that he was born in West Flamborough, though the family seems to have sold up in West Flamborough by 1819 at the latest.
