| Note | She Information for the names of the children of Emily and John is taken from the 1901 census in Manitoba at Brandon, R.M. Wallace, and also from the 1906 census, apparently in the same place. The Manitoba Vital Statistics Birth Registration Index also provides dates for the births of some of the children and confirms the maiden name of their mother. The 1901 census places the birth of Vinton in Ontario, but a birth registration for him in Ontario has not been found. His name also does not appear in the Manitoba Birth Registration index. In the 1911 census, John Bennett and his son Vinton are shown in Dist. 5, page 3, of Battleford, Saskatchewan. The rest of the family is in Virden, Manitoba. Son Charles shows his father at Virden, Manitoba, in 1916, so it's evident that he has returned there from Saskatchewan. |
