It is also to be found on microfilm GS2987, First Presbyterian Church - First Church was Presbyterian prior to church union - but the copy found on LCM 30 is more readable. Mrge 131 By license in Dumfries, December 16, 1842 Dransfield Thornton and Susannah Buchanan, both of Dumfries, Witnesses Charles Munro and Archibald Buchanan. Since the marriage was in Dumfries, it may have been at the home of the bride's mother, though there are other possibilities. Archibald Buchanan is Susannah Buchanan's brother. |

| Note | He Dransfield and Susannah are not in the 1861 census at Galt. They are in the 1851 census and again in the 1871 census. Dransfield died not long after. Dransfield does appear in an 1861 Detroit City Directory. He is shown as a last maker and residing at 89 Congress East. What took the couple to Detroit or brought them back to Galt is unknown. A death registration for Dransfield has not been found. His date of death, October 7, 1871, is as found on his gravestone in Mountview Cemetery. The stone has the names of Dransfield, Susannah, and Christian Buchanan, wife of L. S. Bradish. |
