     Susan B. Hooper Allen was born on 10 March 1826 at Chatham, Kent County, Ontario.1 She married Israel Evans on 20 June 1888 at Chatham, Kent County, Ontario. (notes: Minerva Jane died in 1886 and Israel Evans remarried in 1888. His marriage registration follows:
005513-88 Israel Evans, age 65, widower, residing Chatham, born United States. (Some census information suggests that he was born in Pennsylvania.) He is shown as an inspector. His parents are shown as Israeland Abigail.
Susan B. Allen, 62 (the registration does not say so, but the surnameof her father suggests that she is a widow). She is said to reside inChatham and to have been born there. Her parents were John and Susan Hooper. The witnesses were H. Hill and Mrs. Goodyear, both of Chatham.They were married on June 20, 1888, in Chatham. They were both Methodists and the clergyman was R. Johnson Treleaven.).1
She died on 28 March 1914 at Lot 19 Conc 7, Burford Twp, Brant County, Ontario, at age 88.1 008261-14 Susan Allen Evans, 88 yrs, 8 dys., died March 14, 1914. born Kent County, died C7-L19 Burford. Widow. Parents John Hooper and Jane Roe. The informant was Thomas Brooks of Cathcart.

Susan's birth date calculates from her death registration to March 10, 1826, but she herself gives her birthday as March 10, 1826, in the 1901 census taken at Chatham, so that is used here.

In 1901, a year after Israel's death, she is living with her sister, Cynthia Goodyear.

In 1911, she is in Norwick in Oxford South, in the Hendershot household. She is shown as a lodger. The head of the house is actually a Matilda Purdy.

Susan's first husband was Charles Allen and they lived at least some of their lives in Burford. They were there at the time of the 1881 census.1
