The informant was George Clark, merchant, Troy, Beverly.

George Clark ran the general store at Troy and was the postmaster. Itappears that registrations of the day could be filed with the postmaster who then forwarded the information to the township clerk. It appears that the postmaster acted as an intermediary in the process.
