James Henry Moe was born on 27 November 1860 at Bayham Twp, Elgin County, Ontario.1 He was the son of Henry Moe and Sarah (--?--).1 He married Minerva House on 24 December 1884 at Malahide Twp, Elgin County, Ontario. (notes: 002695-84 24 December 1884, Malahide Twp., Elgin Co. James H. Moe, 24, residence Malahide, born Bayham, bachelor, farmer, parents Henry and Sarah Moe. Minerva House, 21, spinster, born and residing Malahide. The writing is difficult, but it seems that only her mother's name is shown - Mary House. Witnesses: Nettie Moe and Annie Mason, both of Calton. The bride and groom were Baptists. Married by Rev. George Mason.).1 He died on 8 July 1939 at Aylmer, Ontario, at age 78.1 He was buried at Aylmer Cemetery, Elgin County, Ontario.1 One or two online trees at Rootsweb suggest that James was in Plymouth, Dearborn, Michigan, for the 1880 U.S. census, but that he was back in Bayham Township, Norfolk County, in Ontario, for the 1881 Canadian census. This is possible, though it requires more research.1
