Irene F. Robb was born on 17 October 1888.1 She married George S. Cornell, son of John H. Cornell and Sarah M. Lawrason, on 12 February 1908 at South Dumfries Twp, Brant County, Ontario. (notes: 005062-08 ( Brant Co) George S. CORNELL , 24 , farmer , Beverley , South Dumfries , s/o John H. CORNELL & Sarah LAWRASON , married Irene G.ROBB , 19 , South Dumfries , same , d/o James M. ROBB & Mary GRANDINE , witn: John H. CORNELL of South Dumfries & Evelyn Cornell JOB of Morenci Arizona USA , 12 Feb 1908 at South Dumfries).1 She died on 19 October 1969 at Brantford, Brant County, Ontario, at age 81.1 She was buried on 22 October 1969 at St. George Cemetery, South Dumfries Twp, Brant County, Ontario.1 The transcription of the 1901 census has Irene's middle initial as anL, but upon examination of the jpeg it's safe to say it's an F.
Irene's parents are James Malachi Robb and Mary Grandine of South Dumfries. He is said to be a farmer and the family is said to be Methodist. James's parents are William Robb and Ursula Sager.

Looking at James's family in the 1881 census as well as in the Troy History 1947 booklet, we find that the family was in Beverly Township in Wentworth County. James maternal grandparents were Malachi Sager and Sarah Dean. Malachi Sager was one of the first trustees of Troy Cemetery, along with Adam Misener and Henry Mow (Moe.) It's interesting to note the inter-relatedness of these families.

The marriage notice from the Brantford Expositor in the February 20th, 1908, issue, is uninformative as to the date. It says that they were married in the brides home, so it's likely that it was held in South Dumfries.

The names of the children and their spouses are from Irene's obituary.1
