NoteHe The Niagara Falls Gazette (New York) had a Canadian page. Editions of this newspaper can be found on the website for Old Fulton New York Postcards. This is an excellent resource for mainly upstate New York newspapers.

From time to time, James' name appeared on the Canadian page, mainly in relationship to his involvement with a fruit growers association. Once James left home he seems to have spent the rest of his life in Niagara Township and died at Niagara-on-the-Lake.

James died only six days after his wife.
