James Albert Soper, 23, bachelor, farmer, born Canada, residing Townsend. Baptist. Parents James and Jane Soper.
Sarah Forette Vrooman, 19, spinster, born Canada, residing Townsend. Baptist. Parents Daniel and Maria Vrooman.
On March 2nd, 1871, Woodhouse Township, by Abraham Austin.
Witnesses William Wilson and Ellen Vrooman, both of Townsend.

Sarah's middle name is shown as Forette on her marriage registration, but it appears that this is a misreading of the reporting clergyman's handwriting. Her middle name was clearly Loretta.

DeathHe died on 4 December 1921 at Hamilton, Wentworth County, Ontario.
BurialHe was buried on 7 December 1921 at Port Dover Cemetery, Port Dover, Ontario.
NoteJames Soper, age 3, is found in the 1851 census in Rainham Township in Haldimand County. His mother Jane is a widow and the family is shown as being Baptist and all born in Upper Canada.

The 1881 census at Woodhouse shows him as being born in Ontario. The 1901 census at Port Dover shows his birth as being in Ontario. His marriage registration shows his place of birth as Canada.

That his place of birth in his death registration is shown as Germany would appear to be incorrect.
