Teresa Vansickle

     Teresa Vansickle was born on 7 February 1867 at Troy, Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.¹ She was the daughter of John Vansickle and Eliza Misener.¹ She married William M. Babcock on 24 May 1890 at Galt, Waterloo County, Ontario. (notes: #012391-90 (Waterloo Co): William M. BABCOCK, 24, farmer, Sheffield Ont., Troy, s/o John & Hannah, married Thersa L. VANSICKLE, 24, Troy, same, d/o John & Eliza, witn: John & Hannah BABCOCK of Galt, 24 May 1890 at Galt

As written, both William and Teresa are shown as age 24. His parents are shown as John and Hannah Babcock. He was said to be born in Sheffield, but both are shown as resident in Troy. The transcript actually shows her parents as John and Eliza Babcock. The first names are correct, but Babcock is a clerical error. The witnesses appear to have been his parents.).¹ Teresa appears in the 1881 census with the family.

The family was in Galt at the time of the 1901 census. The names of the children and birth dates are taken from this census.

It seems that William and Teresa are buried at Mountview Cemetery in Galt. A transcription will be checked.

In the 1911 census, Teresa is still in Galt. She is shown as a widow and has two children born after the 1901 census.¹
