|Note||As noted, Phoebe Leeming and James Grainger were married in 1873. Also married in 1873 was Phoebe's sister Abigail Leeming to Henry Hull. Abigail died in 1932 in Wiarton in Bruce County. Her death registration shows her parents as Robert Leeming and Rebecca Shaw. The 1851 census for Glanford shows the Leeming and Shaw households as being adjacent.|
Phoebe's mother, Rebecca Shaw, died very young. The Hamilton Branch of the OGS provides us with cemetery transcriptions for White Church Cemetery in Glanford Township. Their transcription of Rebecca's grave reads:
Rebecca/wife of/Robert L. Leeming/and daughter of/ Tho's & Abigail Shaw/died Feb. 4th, 1857/AE 33 Y 1 M & 21 D
Robert then married Lucetta Smith, daughter of William Smith. Lucetta would have been Phoebe's step mother and well enough favored by Phoebe to have named a daughter for her.
