     Lewis Woods Smith was born on 14 December 1861 at Beverly Twp, Wentworth County, Ontario.1 He was the son of Albert Kellogg Smith and Amelia Misener.1 He married Mary Elizabeth Coates on 24 September 1884 at Goderich, Ontario. (notes: 4950-85 Lewis Woods SMITH, 22, farmer, Beverly twp., Colborne twp., s/o Albert & Amelia, married Mary Elizabeth COATES, 20, Adelaide twp.,Colborne twp., d/o John & Mary, 24 Sept 1884 at Goderich
The registration shows Albert's name as Oliver. There is no doubt that Lewis is the son of Albert and that the registration will likely bea misreading of the information sent by the minister. There are no names shown for witnesses.).1
He died at Bay City, Michigan.1 Years of birth for Mary and Harry are taken from the 1910 census taken at Bay City, Michigan.
The handwriting is difficult in the various census years, but they may have gone to the U.S. in 1892.

According to Judson Smith's death notice in the Galt Reporter, his brother Lewis Smith was living in Bay City, Michigan, in 1931.1
