Phoebe Buckberrough was born in 1856 at Ontario.1 She was the daughter of James Coleman Buckberrough and Rachel Smith.1 She married George Herbert Cornell on 20 August 1889 at Woodstock, Oxford County, Ontario. (notes: 009505-89 ( Oxford Co) George Herbert CORNELL , 34 , railway conductor , Ontario , California , s/o Owen & Nancy , married Phoebe BUCKBOROUGH , 32 , Ontario , Norfolk , d/o James & Rachael , witn: J.C. TISDALE & Mary CREIGHTON both of Woodstock , 20 Aug 1889 at Woodstock).1 Phoebe and George were in California by 1890, according to the 1900 and 1910 census. I do not find them in 1920. They were in the Oakland, Alameda area according to census information. The name of their daughter is difficult to read, but the census transcribers seem to think that her name was Eriel, and it looks as good as anything.1
