|Note||Joseph and Mary and their daughter Ruth are at London, Ontario, at the time of the 1901 census. Their birth dates are taken from that census. Joseph is said to be a commercial traveller. It's interesting to note that his brother James is a commercial traveller as well.|
At Detroit in the 1910 census is Joseph D. Moe with his wife Mary and their children, Ruth 17, Kenneth L. 7, and Douglas J. 4.
In the 1920 census, the three children are still with them. Ruth is a stenographer. By the 1930 census, Joseph and Mary are on their own. He is shown as a produce broker.
In the Canadian census of 1881 and 1901, Joseph's place of birth is given as Ontario. In the U.S. census information his place of birth is given as Michigan. Michigan may be correct, for his parents were there in 1860 and 1861.
