     Charles Hamilton was born on 12 July 1838 at Ardclinis, Co Antrim, Ireland.1,2,3 He was the son of John Hamilton and Rose McCarney.1 He immigrated to Ontario with his parents John Hamilton and Rose McCarney in 1847 with their 8 children.1 He appeared on the 1851 Census of Loughborough Twp, Frontenac County, Ontario, in the household of John Hamilton and Rose McCarney.4 He appeared on the 1861 Census of Bedford Twp, Frontenac County, Ontario, in the household of John Hamilton.5 He married first Mary Jordan, daughter of Michael Jordan and Mary Farrell, between 1861 and 1863 at Ontario.6 He lived near Davis Lock, South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, about 1865.7 He appeared on the 1871 Census of Crosby South, Leeds South, Ontario.8 He married second Ellen Fitzgerald, daughter of James Fitzgerald and Eleanor McLoughlin, on 6 February 1876 at St Philip Neri Church, Toledo, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.9 He appeared on the 1881 Census of Crosby South, Leeds South, Ontario.10 He appeared on the 1891 Census of Crosby South, Leeds South, Ontario.11 He appeared on the 1901 Census of Crosby South, Leeds South, Ontario.1 He wrote his will on 25 June 1910.12 He appeared on the 1911 Census of South Crosby Twp, South Leeds, Ontario.13 He and Ellen Fitzgerald lived at parts of lots 17, 18 & 19, Con 1, South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.12 He died on 1 October 1913 when his horse bolted and he was thrown from his buggy at South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, at age 75.12,14,15 He was buried at St Columbanus Cemetery, Elgin, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.15,16,17 His estate was probated on 24 October 1913.18
