Charles Hamilton
     Charles Hamilton was born on 12 July 1838 at Ardclinis, Co Antrim, Ireland.3,4,5 He was the son of John Hamilton and Rose McCarney.1,2 He immigrated to Ontario with his parents John Hamilton and Rose McCarney in 1847.6 He married first Mary Jordan, daughter of Michael Jordan and Mary Farrell, between 1861 and 1863 at Ontario.7 He lived near Davis Lock, South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, about 1865.8 He was left a widower when Mary Jordan died on 5 December 1874.7,9 He married second Eleanor Fitzgerald, daughter of James Fitzgerald and Eleanor McLoughlin, on 6 February 1876 at St Philip Neri Church, Toledo, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.10 He wrote his will on 25 June 1910.11 He and Eleanor Fitzgerald lived at parts of lots 17, 18 & 19 Con 1, South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario. The value of this land at his death was $7000.11 He died on 1 October 1913 when his horse bolted and he was thrown from his buggy at South Crosby Twp, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario, at age 75.11,12,13 He was buried at St Columbanus Cemetery, Elgin, Leeds & Grenville County, Ontario.13,14,15 His estate was probated on 24 October 1913. It was valued at $9,039.16
