     Martin Van Buren Dye was born in August 1839 in Wayland, Steuben County, New York.1 He married Phoebe Coleman, daughter of Daniel Coleman and Mary Abel, on 15 November 1887 in Chesaning, Saginaw County, Michigan.2 He died in 1902 in Chesaning, Michigan.1

Martin is probably the Martin V. Dye who served with the New York Heavy Artillery during the Civil War.1
