Jean Misener
Jean Misener's full name was Edna Jean Misener however, she disliked the name Edna and used "Jean" throughout her life. She had her name legally changed in the late 1960s or early 1970s.1 She was born on 12 March 1910 at Ontario.1 She was the daughter of Robert Ansel Misener and Ethel Isabel Smith.1 She married Roger Allan Sherwood.1 She died on 17 March 2011 at Hamilton, Ontario, at age 101.1

Jean's obituary in the Hamilton Spectator, Hamilton, Ontario, on 22 March 2011 read:
"SHERWOOD, Jean (nee Misener) Passed away peacefully, at St. Elizabeth Villa 5 days after her 101st Birthday. Jean leaves behind her 5 boys Gerald (Fran), Ronald (Earlene), Roger, Jim (Lynda) Ken (Beth) 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grand- children. Predeceased by her husband Roger (1959), when she was left to raise 4 of her boys on her own. Jean took a job in the kitchen of St. Peter's Infirmary, while there she was offered a chance to attend classes to become a Nursing Assistant. Jean graduated and continued to work there until her retirement in 1975. After retirement, golf became her passion, each fall she would pay next season's membership saying "this gave her the incentive to stay in shape over the winter months." Jean continued to golf 2-3 times per week until the fall of 1998. Jean enjoyed a long and full life and will be missed by her family, and those who knew her. The family sincerely thanks the management and staff of St. Elizabeth Villa for their kindness and caring of Jean over the past 13+ years. A private service will take place."2
