      Florence Eleanor Oldham was born on 21 July 1881 at Yreka, Siskiyou County, California.3,1,2 She has also been reported to have been born at Little Shasta, Siskiyou County, California.4 She was the daughter of Albert George Oldham and Ella Florence Graves.1,2,3 She married first William Edward Parsons about 1904.5 She married second Albert L Mowre on 20 July 1909 at Vancouver, British Columbia.6 She and Albert L Mowre were divorced about 1915.7 She married third Charles E Shafer about 1915 at Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington.5 She and Charles E Shafer were divorced about 1926.7 She married fourth Earl Harrison Butterfield on 16 October 1931 at College Place, Walla Walla County, Washington.8 She lived at Springfield, Lane County, Oregon, in February 1944.2 She died on 19 April 1959 at Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington, at age 77.

Florence's obituary in the The Walla Walla Union Bulletin on 21 April 1959 read:
"FLORENCE ELEANOR BUTTERFIELD: Walla Walla; 77, died at a local hospital Tuesday morning after a lengthy illness. Mrs Butterfield was born 21 Jul 1881 in Yreka CA, but had lived most of her life in this area. She was married 16 Oct 1931 in College Place to Earl H Butterfield. He survives as do 1 dau: Mrs Geraldine Schlaman - Santa Monica CA; 2 sons: Edwin Parsons - Bend OR & Gordon Schafer - Portland OR; 1 brother: George Oldham-Ashland OR; 12 grandchildren & 11 gr-grandchildren. Funeral services are being arranged for Friday afternoon at DeWitt Funeral Home Chapel. Elder William Clements of Walla Walla Seventh Day Adventist Church to which Mrs Butterfield belonged, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cem."9

She was buried at Mount Hope Cemetery, College Place, Walla Walla County, Washington.9
