     Jesse I Clapp was born about 21 June 1751.1 He was the son of Joseph Clapp and Mercy Carpenter.1 He has also been reported to have been born about 1760.2 He married Susanna Baldwin.1 He died on 27 October 1828 at La Grange, Dutchess County, New York.1 He was buried at Hopewell Reformed Church Ground, Dutchess County, New York.1 He has also been reported to have died on 13 November 1828.2
