     Ennos Challis was born on 8 February 1757 in Kingston, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. He was the son of John Challis and Miriam Sargent. He married Joanna Chase, daughter of Ebenezer Chase and Hepzibah Sargent, in 1786. He died on 12 June 1817 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York, at age 60.
