Born Township of Puslinch, County of Wellington. Physician Dr. Groves. Informant Alexander Easton, miller, Fergus. Cause of death 'Dr. Groves certifies cause of death as follows: Rheumatic fever.' A transcription of 'Belleside' Cemetery was done in 1883 by Alexander Dingwall Fordyce, a local industrialist. This records the gravestone of Alexander Easton who died in 1878. This stone certainly survived to a much latter transcription as was done by the Wellington County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society in 1992. A stone for the later Alexander, Alexander Oliver Easton, born in 1881 and who died in 1882 in Fergus, has not been found. He died in Fergus and is probably buried there, perhaps with his older brother of the same name. |
