Born England, residing Galt. Parents John and Sophia Skoyles. Sarah M. Barlow, 19, spinster, born Durham, residing Galt. Parents John and Anne Barlow. Witnesses Robert Bailey and Caroline Skoyles, both of Galt. On May 4, 1887, at Galt. Clergyman Rev. John Ridley. The bride and groom were both Church of England. A transcription of this marriage, essentially the same as above, also appears in the records of Trinity Anglican Church of Galt. The transcription was done by the Brant County branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. The only slight error to this rendition shows the groom's name as Skayles. |

| Note | The 1901 census taken at Galt places the birth of John Skoyles in England. It states that he came to Canada in 1869. Appearing on the next census page, John's parents, John Skoyles Sr. and his wife Sophia are also said to have come to Canada in 1869. John lived to be 96. At present, it isn't clear where he lived out his final years or where he died, but he is buried in Trinity Anglican Cemetery with his parents. |
