BirthElam Vrooman was born on 5 March 1828 at Upper Canada. 
MarriageHe married Caroline Elizabeth Main, daughter of George Main and Margaret Ann Chandler, in 1857.
For the moment, we have only the barest of marriage information for Elam and Caroline. The 1861 census at Garafraxa states that they were married in 1859. To this point, no further record has been found, however an 1859 marriage is almost certainly wrong, considering that son George came along in 1858. We show a marriage year of 1857, but this is subject to change.
 
DeathHe died on 21 January 1912 at Ontario Hospital, Hamilton, at age 83. 
BurialHe was buried at Sec. 4B, Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus, Ontario.

We have no direct statement, but considering his parents' presence in Beverly from shortly after the War of 1812, in all probability Elam was born in Beverly Township, Home District, Upper Canada. His family did not move to Garafraxa Township until approximately 1842.

Elam is buried in Section 4B (7-3E) in Belsyde Cemetery, Fergus. His gravestone inscription reads:
Vrooman / Elam Vrooman / Died Jan. 22, 1912 / In his 84th year.
