| Note | Lundy appears, age 9, in the 1891 census in Middletown Twp., Norfolk County. By the time of the 1901 census he is shown as 19 and his date of birth is given as 7 November 1881. The 1911 census places his birth in November of 1882 and his gravestone dates his birth to 1882. At the time of their marriage, Lundy is shown as residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He has not been found in the U.S. in the 1920 or 1930 censuses, so it would appear that Lundy and Parnel returned to Canada not long after their marriage. All the early documentation for the family, up to and including the 1911 census, shows the family name as Smoke. The name is given as Smuck on at least some graves in Oakwood Cemetery and so is shown as Smuck here. When or why the change was made isn't known. |
