NoteEmma Rose Pettit is found in the 1880 census in Blue Earth, Faribault, Minnesota. She is age 11 and with her parents Thomas and Lucetta. She is evidently in Blue Earth in 1889 at the time of the birth of her son Fred. She is with Walter in Straight River Township, Hubbard Co., Minnesota, at the time of the 1900 census. She is in Spokane, Washington, in 1910 with her second husband George H. Frazier. She is still in Spokane in 1920 with husband George and also with son Fred V. Vrooman. In 1920 she is shown as age 48. In 1930, the two of them are still together in Spokane. George is believed to have died 14 July, 1933, in Spokane.

There is some possibility that George Frazier was not Emma's second husband, but her third. FamilySearch.org provides us with a marriage record at Addy, Stevens County, Washington, of Alex Moore and Mrs. Emily Vrooman, both of Stevens County. The marriage record is dated 12 July, 1904. The Justice of the Peace was Frank J. Willet. The witnesses were J.M. Smith and J.E. Willett. Beyond this, the record is not informative. In the 1910 census in Stevens County, Washington, there is an Alex Moore at Arden. He is 58 and said to have been married twice. Since Emma is married to George Frazier and living in Spokane by 1910 and if she is one and the same person as Mrs. Emily Vrooman of Addy in 1904, then it would appear that there was a divorce.
