This does provide us with difficulty as to the age of son Maitland based on later census years. The implication is that he should have been in the 1861 census with his parents, but, if he is indeed in the 1861 census his presence there is not readily apparent. |

| Note | Gilbert Field, son of Gilbert Chrysler Field, was likely born in Beverly Township. Gilbert Sr. purchased lot 29 of the 1st concession of Beverly in November of 1830. Death reg. 031428-09 Ancaster Twp., Wentworth County Gilbert Field, age 73 yrs., 6 mos., 9 dys, died April 27th, 1909 (see below). Born Oct 20, 1836. Place of death Lot 17, con. 2, Ancaster. Farmer. Married. Father Gilbert Chrysler Field (English descent), Rebecca Vromand (rather illegible), Pennsylvania descent. The medical portion of the form dates Gilbert's death to April 29, 1909. This agrees with the date of death as it appears on his stone in Jerseyville Cemetery. |
