| Note | Birth reg. 018862-87 St. Catharines, Lincoln Co. Leslie R. L. Gadsby born 18 September, 1887. Parents Albert Gadsby and 'Hallie F.' Vrooman. Father a marble cutter. Informant Albert Gadsby, St. Catharines. On 1st December, 1914, Leslie R. Gadbsy signed his attestation papers to join the Canadian Army. Front and back, he signs his name as Leslie R. Gadsby. The index provided, however, shows him as Leslie Rosell Gadsby. This will be in a Canadian Army record at some point, though just what hasn't been found. Considering other appearances of the name in the family, the source for which also has yet to be found, Leslie's middle name is shown as Roselle in this tree. The disposition of the will of Leslie's uncle, Walter R. Vrooman, was published in the 21 October 1936 edition of the Clyde Herald in Clyde, New York, and as of that date, Leslie Gadsby was living in St. Catharines. |
