George E. Wesley Himes born Aug. 14, 1897. Parents John Himes and Nellie Godfrey. The father is shown as a moulder. The informant was Dr. E.R. Woods.
George served with the local Galt militia, the Highland Light Infantry of Canada, before going overseas during the First World War. He was with two or three different battalions during his service.
George's brother Norm had the family fame so far as playing professional hockey was concerned, but George played with a local Galt team and was considered to be an excellent hockey player.
The Waterloo County Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society provides a transcription of Trinity Anglican Cemetery in Cambridge. The stone reads:
