The United Church Archives have the marriage books for Ainslie Street Methodist Church in Galt. In 98.143L, 7os-1 It shows William Charles Clark, age 24, living in Galt, born in England, a batchelor, son of William Clark and Emma Matheson, marrying Jennie McBride, age 27, living in Galt and born in Whitby, daughter of Thos. McBride and Jane Garrison. The witnesses are Ida Amanda McBride and Annie Medcof of Galt. The date given for the marriage is 25 December 88. They are both Methodists and the marriage was performed by Rev. Andrew Cunningham by license.

Why the discrepancy with the names of the witnesses isn't known. Annie Medcof appears in the church record. Henry Clark appears in the Galt registration. It seems reasonable that Henry, aka. Harry, was present at his brother's marriage.
