Occupation and residence of father: Teamster, St. Andrew (Street).Informant Monty Lovegrove. Registration made September 10, 1900. Dr. J. H. Radford attended. Ethel's life was short. She appears in the 1901 census, age 7 months, but is not in the 1911 census. The following death registration has been found. Death reg. 028455-05 Galt, Waterloo Co. L. Lovegrove died April 6, 1905. Female. Age 4 years. Residence Beverly Street. Born Galt. Methodist. Attending doctor as well as informant J.S. Wardlaw. The child died of meningitis. The above death registration may show Ethel's name as 'L' in error and is probably her. Nothing has been found later for Ethel. The Beverly Street residence would seem to confirm it for at some point around this time the family did move to Beverly Street. One difficulty is that there is a death registration dated August 19, 1905, for a child 2-1/2 of age, Margaret McFarlane Lovegrove, residence St. Andrews Street. The informant was Dr. J.S. Wardlaw and the religion of the family is given as Presbyterian. It does look like there was another Lovegrove family in Galt at the time. Ethel's middle name of Delilah is found elsewhere in the family. Elsie Laidlaw Lovegrove had a cousin Delilah Able. |
