Margaret A. Stockford

ID # 2902, (1844-1919)
BirthMargaret A. Stockford was born in 1844 at Blenheim Township.
MarriageShe married Miller Lawrason Willson, son of Obed Willson and Rachel Lawrason
DeathShe died on 1 December 1919.
BurialShe was buried at Drumbo Cemetery.
NoteShe After Lawrason's death in 1878, Margaret married Daniel Edwin Eaton on Dec. 21, 1880, in Woodstock. The inscription on the gravestone in Drumbo Cemetery is faded, but it does appear that Margaret is buried with Lawrason. The photo of the stone is difficult to read, but it appears that she died on Dec. 1, 1919. A death registration has not been found.

Tracing the children of Lawrason Willson and Margaret Stockford presents problems. With Margaret and her second husband Edwin Eaton in Blandford Twp. at the time of the 1881 census is son Joseph, age 7. The 1891 census at Blandford is of more assistance, but somewhat at odds with the names of the children in the 1871 census. The oldest child in that census appears to be Jeanie, age 7. The handwriting is so faded and smudged, however, that it could be almost anything, but appears to be Jeanie. In 1891, her name is clearly given as Victoria, age 24 and, pending further research, Victoria is the name for her used in this tree. Also with the family in 1891 is son Charles age 23 and Joseph age 17. This information is more or less in agreement with the 1871 census or the birth registration that we have for Joseph. There is still a son listed in the 1871 census, age 1, whom we cannot identify due to illegible and faded writing.

It is evident from the 1891 census that Margaret had at least three children with Edwin. They appear as George, age 8; James D., age 6; and a daughter, Atta, age 2.
