The marriage registration for Emerson and Eliza Jane is written in Wallace McDonald's typical difficult script. That Emerson's middle name may be interpreted as 'Bristol' is not immediately apparent, but, after reading his death registration, which identifies him as Emerson Bristol Warner, it suddenly becomes clear enough as written on the marriage registration.

The Methodist church at Troy was Episcopal Methodist. This was prior to amalgamation with the Wesleyan Methodists. One difference between the two lines of Methodism is that the Episcopal Methodists had bishops and the Wesleyans did not.
