| Note | The Hamilton Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society's transcription of St. John's Anglican Cemetery in Ancaster shows a death date, as inscribed on her stone, of 30 September, 1860. As it happens, St. John's Anglican Church in their burial records shows her burial as 30 September, 1860. There is probably an error here, though a same day burial, while unlikely, is at least possible. Sarah is buried beside Patrick. The OGS transcription reads: Mary S. / wife of / Patrick Hammill / died / September 30th 1860 / aged 57 years / 5 mo' & 12 d. A calculation of Mary's date of birth is made from this. The St. John's Anglican Church burial records, by the way, show Mary Sarah's maiden name as Beasley. |
