On March 22, 1876 at Town of Goderich, by Rev. W. C. Henderson, by license. Note that the name Hamill seems more frequently to have been spelled as Hammill. The records of St. John's Anglican Church in Ancaster spell the name Hammill for all family members. Samuel, the patriarch of the Canadian family, at one time spelled his name as Hamel. Mary's name Pasmore, so spelled, is spelled Passmore for her father's name. The 1861 census at Goderich shows her mother's name as Elmira, rather than Almira. |
