| Note | The Niagara Falls Gazette (New York), had a substantial Canadian following, apparently for several decades. Old Fulton New York Postcards provides us with a page from the Friday, June 28, 1963, issue which tells of the death of Mrs. Wrong in Hamilton at age 95. Mrs. Wrong had been a resident of Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls, Ontario, but for three years had been a resident of St. Peter's infirmary in Hamilton, where she died on Thursday June 27. It tells that she was born in Hamilton, but had been a residence of Niagara Falls (Ontario) for 55 years and was a member of Drummond Hill Presbyterian Church. It tells that her first husband George K. Bullock died in 1900 and her second husband John E. Wrong in 1930. Named are surviving children and step children. The funeral was to be held Saturday, June 29th, and she was to be buried in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. Katherine's parents were George B. Smith and Katherine, or Catherine, Webster. A birth registration for one of Katherine's siblings would have her father's middle name as Brethour. Every other record examined wherein her father's name is given in full represents his middle name as Braithwaite. George Braithwaite Smith married a second time to Delora Hodgkins Beamer. |
