BirthEleanor Field was born in 1832.

The Waterdown - East Flamborough Heritage Society, Waterdown, in August of 2001 printed a booklet, Flamborough Marriages from the Hamilton Spectator, 1846 - 1867 - Records from the former townships of Beverly and East and West Flamborough.

In it we find, for 11 June, 1857 - apparently the marriage date and not the date of the issue of the Spectator - the following:

70
On the 11th instant, by the Rev. James Brennan, the Rev. James Hill, son of the late Major J. Hill of Elizabethtown to Eleanor, daughter of Captain G.C. Field of Beverly.

NoteThe 1861 census in Trafalgar Township in the county of Halton shows the Hill family. James Hill, per the marriage registration, is shown as a clergyman, age 30, 'NC. Probably, the NC represents New Connection Methodist. With him is wife Eleanor, age 29, and children Alferetta, age 3, and Gilbert, age 1.
