ID # 3770, (1832-)
|Father||Gilbert Chrysler Field (1807-1881)|
|Mother||Rebecca Eleanor Vrooman (1809-1836)|
|Birth||Eleanor Field was born in 1832.|
|Marriage||She married James Hill on 11 June 1857.|
The Waterdown - East Flamborough Heritage Society, Waterdown, in August of 2001 printed a booklet, Flamborough Marriages from the Hamilton Spectator, 1846 - 1867 - Records from the former townships of Beverly and East and West Flamborough.
In it we find, for 11 June, 1857 - apparently the marriage date and not the date of the issue of the Spectator - the following:
On the 11th instant, by the Rev. James Brennan, the Rev. James Hill, son of the late Major J. Hill of Elizabethtown to Eleanor, daughter of Captain G.C. Field of Beverly.
|Note||The 1861 census in Trafalgar Township in the county of Halton shows the Hill family. James Hill, per the marriage registration, is shown as a clergyman, age 30, 'NC. Probably, the NC represents New Connection Methodist. With him is wife Eleanor, age 29, and children Alferetta, age 3, and Gilbert, age 1.|
