| Note | He An examination of the 1901 census at RM Wallace, Brandon, Manitoba, shows Stafford with the middle initial Z. Other records show that John Bennett's mother was a Zimmerman and so this is taken as to be the middle name of Stafford. There is room for confusion, for it seems that John Matthias Bennett had a brother Stafford Zimmerman Bennett. His name appears in the Western Land Records show his middle name as Zimmerman. It was likely the uncle who was the Stafford Z. Bennett, postmaster at Druid, Saskatchewan, from 1914-02-10 to 1914-08-15. It appears that he was also postmaster at Millerdale, Saskatchewan, from 1914-12-01 to 1916-06-08. Stafford the nephew would have been 13 in 1914. |
