| Note | Birth reg 039473-90 Toronto, York Co. Janet Mitchell was born December 19th, 1889. Parents John Mitchell and Elizabeth Lowther. Informant Jno. Mitchell, salesman, 116 Givins St., Toronto. Registered January 2nd, 1890. For the Lowther household in the 1901 and 1911 censuses, the available images are anything but clear. Janet's name, however, appears to be shown as Jessie. The 1921 census in Toronto does show her as Janet G. Findlay, but Find-a-Grave shows George as dying in 1946 in Montreal and his wife's name is shown as Jessie Mitchell. Janet's birth and marriage registrations show that her legal name was Janet, but it does appear that she went by Jessie. As of the 1921 census, there is no evidence that George and Janet had children. |
