ID # 4258, (1797-1828)
| Baptism | Janet McArthur was baptized in 1797 at Scotland. |
| Marriage | She married Alexander Harvie, son of Alexander Harvie and Mary Cameron. |
| Death | She died in 1828 at Dumfries Township, Gore District. |
| Burial | She was buried at Harvie Cemetery, now in Sheffield, Ontario. |
| Note | For a time, after the Harvie Cemetery's gravestones were removed from the old Harvie farm near Branchton in North Dumfries Township, they were taken to the Doon Pioneer Village near Kitchener. There, at some undated point, the stones were transcribed by the Waterloo-Wellington branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Janet's stone is the last recorded on the one page transcription, and it reads:
Erected / in memory of / Janet McCharter / who departed this / life in the year 1828 / aged 31 years /
After a forensic examination of the remains was made at McMaster University, the stones with remains were reinterred in Sheffield Cemetery in Beverly Township of Wentworth County. This is not far from Branchton. |
