| Note | A transcription for the stone in Mountview Cemetery isn't clear. The stone must be in poor shape. It says that young James died on the 29th of ? 1869. A date for James's death has been found in a transcription for the North Dumfries Reformer. It shows him as the only child of Angust S. Keachie who died on 5 June 1869. It gives his age as 10 months.
It is understood that James, an infant, died a few days before his father and that they were buried together. |
